AFAs are remarkably free of irritation at effective pH levels. In the US, AFAs are available from dermatologists and plastic surgeons. Eden Skincare are the exclusive distributor in Ireland.

What are AFA Gels?

A unique amino-acid skincare product developed in the US by dermatologist Dr. Marvin E. Klein — also the inventor of esterified glycolics and a Life Member of the American Academy of Dermatology. AFAs are the first cosmeceutical ever to utilise these valuable acidic amino acids as part of a skincare regimen.

AFA stands for amino acid filaggrin-based antioxidants — filaggrin is a protein in the upper layer of skin responsible for its ability to retain moisture. AFAs are based on the same natural acidic amino acids, and are also potent antioxidants, helpful against photo-pigmentation.

What can AFAs do for your business?

AFAs combine a home-care programme with in-salon peel treatments. The home-care programme provides an excellent retail opportunity. The in-salon AFA facial takes just twenty minutes and has an RRP of €58 — the product cost to you is just €8.33. Six weekly facials are recommended, followed by a monthly top-up, providing a strong continuous revenue stream.

Frequently asked questions

Is the treatment painful?

No — a slight tingling sensation, may be slightly pink for a short time, but leaves the client with glowing skin.

How long does the treatment take?

30 minutes for an AFA Peel alone. Can be combined with Microdermabrasion, LED Mask, IPL, or Microneedling.

Is there downtime?

No, none at all.

What does the treatment involve?

Following consultation, skin is cleansed and dried, the AFA Peel applied and left on 3–5 minutes, then washed off with moisturiser and sun block applied.
