How ThermaVein works
ThermaVein uses a process called thermocoagulation. An ultra-thin, single-use probe — as fine as a human hair — is placed on the skin's surface. Gentle pressure empties the vein, then a regulated microburst of energy seals it, causing it to collapse.
The targeted vein disappears on contact, and the body naturally absorbs the blood supply, eliminating the vein for good. The whole process takes just seconds, with most people reporting only minimal discomfort — often described as similar to a hair being plucked.
-
Step 1
The probe delivers a regulated pulse of energy to the vein.
-
Step 2
The sealed area of the vein disappears immediately.
-
Step 3
The process is repeated along the vein until full clearance is achieved.

What we can treat
7 conditions ThermaVein Treats
ThermaVein's pinpoint accuracy makes it effective across a wide range of vein and skin concerns.
Face & legs
Thread veins & spider veins
Small, visible red or purple veins (telangiectasia) — what ThermaVein is best known for treating.
Face & body
Cherry angiomas
Small red vascular blemishes (Campbell de Morgan spots) that often develop with age.
Face & neck
Spider naevi
A cluster of tiny red veins radiating from a central point — commonly on the face or neck.
Face & body
Vascular blemishes
General red spots or visible blood vessels close to the skin's surface.
Face
Milia
Small white or yellow dots just under the skin — notoriously stubborn, but responds well to ThermaVein.
Face & body
Skin tags
Small growths at friction points (neck, underarms). Blood supply is interrupted and the tag drops off, usually within 10 days.
Face & body
Warts
Viral skin growths. ThermaVein sterilises the area to help eliminate the virus and encourage healthy skin to regrow.

Results timeline
What to expect over time
Results are visible on contact, and continue to refine over the following weeks.
-
1
Immediately
The vein or blemish disappears on contact
The treated vein or blemish visibly disappears or reduces the moment the probe is applied.
-
2
First few days
Redness settles, skin tags fall away
Some redness at the treatment site is normal. Skin tags typically begin to drop off naturally within about 10 days.
-
3
4–6 weeks
The body reabsorbs treated veins
On the legs especially, treated veins can look temporarily darker or redder as they're reabsorbed — this is a normal part of the process, and often a sign of a good long-term result. Progress is checked at 4–6 weeks, and a free top-up is applied if needed.
-
4
Long-term
Clear skin — with a plan for the future
Treated veins and blemishes do not return, though new ones can develop over time from the same underlying causes (ageing, sun exposure, hormones, genetics) and can be treated again if needed.
