What are anti-wrinkle injections?

Botox / anti-wrinkle injections are an injectable treatment used to relax targeted muscles. These muscles are often responsible for dynamic lines — the lines that appear when we frown, smile, squint or raise our eyebrows.

By reducing repeated muscle movement in specific areas, the treatment can help soften lines such as forehead creases, frown lines and crow's feet. It can also be used for selected advanced areas depending on suitability, such as the jawline, chin, lip flip, neck bands or excessive underarm sweating.

Each treatment is tailored to the client's face, concerns and desired result.

How Botox works

Botox / anti-wrinkle injections work by temporarily reducing the signal between the nerve and the targeted muscle. This allows the muscle to relax, which softens the appearance of lines caused by repeated facial movement.

Results appear gradually rather than instantly. Most clients begin to notice a change within a few days, with the full result usually visible around two weeks after treatment.

Results timeline

What to expect over time

Results develop gradually. Here's how a typical Botox treatment unfolds from the appointment through to maintenance.

  1. 1

    Day 0

    Immediately after treatment

There may be some slight redness, swelling or small bumps at the injection points. These usually settle quickly.

  2. 2

    3–7 days

    Movement begins to soften

Clients may begin to notice muscle movement softening and lines starting to relax.

  3. 3

    ≈ 2 weeks

    Full result visible

The full effect is usually visible around two weeks after treatment. This is when we assess outcomes for first-time clients.

  4. Downtime

There is usually minimal downtime. Most clients return to work and normal activity soon after treatment, following the aftercare advice below.

Is this right for you?

  • Who is this suitable for?

Clients with visible forehead, frown or crow's feet lines. Anyone wanting a fresher look without surgery, a subtle and natural-looking result, or who is beginning to notice early signs of ageing. Existing Botox clients seeking maintenance. Clients with specific concerns such as jaw clenching, gummy smile or underarm sweating.

  • Who may not be suitable?

Clients who are pregnant, breastfeeding, allergic to any ingredient, experiencing infection or inflammation in the treatment area, taking incompatible medication, or living with certain neurological or muscular conditions. Clients looking for volume replacement may be better suited to dermal filler. Suitability is always assessed during consultation.

Frequently asked questions

What are Botox / anti-wrinkle injections?

Botox / anti-wrinkle injections are an injectable treatment used to temporarily relax selected muscles that cause expression lines. They can help soften wrinkles and create a smoother, fresher appearance while maintaining natural facial movement.

How do anti-wrinkle injections work?

They work by temporarily reducing the nerve signal to specific muscles. When the muscle relaxes, the overlying skin appears smoother and expression lines become less noticeable.

Will I look frozen?

The aim is a natural-looking result. Treatment is tailored to soften lines while preserving expression, so you still look like yourself — just fresher and more rested.

When will I see results?

Most clients begin to notice results within a few days, with the full effect usually visible around two weeks after treatment.

How long does Botox last?

Results typically last around 3–4 months, although this can vary depending on the client, treatment area, dosage and individual muscle activity.

Does Botox hurt?

Most clients find the treatment very tolerable. The injections are quick and use a very fine needle, often feeling like small pinches.

Is there any downtime?

There is usually minimal downtime. Some redness, swelling or mild bruising can occur at the injection points, but this is usually temporary.

What areas can be treated?

Common areas include forehead lines, frown lines and crow's feet. Depending on suitability, Botox may also be used for lip flip, gummy smile, chin dimpling, jawline/masseter, neck bands and excessive underarm sweating.

Can I wear makeup after Botox?

Clients are usually advised to avoid applying makeup immediately after treatment to reduce the risk of irritation or infection at the injection sites.

Can I exercise after Botox?

Clients are usually advised to avoid intense exercise for 24 hours after treatment.

Can Botox and dermal filler be combined?

Yes, in some cases Botox and dermal filler can be used as part of the same overall treatment plan, but they treat different concerns. Botox relaxes muscle movement, while filler restores or enhances volume and structure. A consultation will determine the best option.

Is Botox suitable for everyone?

No. Botox may not be suitable for clients who are pregnant, breastfeeding, have certain medical conditions, are taking certain medications or have an infection in the treatment area. Suitability will be assessed during consultation.

How much does Botox cost at Eden Beauty Group?

Prices currently start from €220 for one area. The final price depends on the number of areas treated and the treatment plan recommended during consultation.
